Printing SA’s Technical Theoretical Module 3 (TT3) will provide Apprentices with the underpinning knowledge to competently perform any practical tasks they are required to complete in terms of the CBMT (Competency Based Modular Training) programme.

Printing SA’s Commercial Digital Printer Programme introduces learners to the Digital Printing Industry by teaching the key concepts and theories needed to become proficient in the digital prepress, printing and print finishing environments.

Adobe Acrobat DC for Print and Prepress

Printing SA’s Adobe Acrobat DC for Print and Prepress course is perfect for staff who have completed our first Adobe modules. This course has been developed specifically for the printing, packaging, signage and visual communications industries and allows candidates to take on more roles within a printing or design business.

With regards to accreditation, the course meets the assessment specifications of the new QCTO Electronic Prepress Technician Qualifications.

POPIA Self-Assessment Form - ABP Information Sharing

As you may be aware, compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), also known as the POPI Act, will be mandatory for ALL registered businesses in South Africa effective 01 July 2021.

Printing SA has obtained permission from Mr Peter Hill of POPIA (Pty) Ltd, the author of the attached self-assessment form who has approved the distribution to our members as part of the value-add we are always looking at providing. You may use this assessment form to assess your organisation’s POPIA-compliance.

Compliance is key to a sustainable, credible business, and we endeavour to assist our members in achieving that standard of excellence in compliance.

As per the latest update from the InfoRegulator's website, the date for registering an Information Officer (and Deputy Information Officer) for your business or your client’s business commences 01 May 2021

The POPI Act applies to every legal entity/business/association dealing with Personal Information in South Africa, including dormant entities that are still registered. If an entity does not want to submit documentation and comply with POPI and PAIA, it needs to deregister.

Avery Dennison Aims for Net-Zero Carbon Emissions By 2050

Materials supplier Avery Dennison has set out a strategy to be net-zero on greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as part of its ongoing commitment to becoming a more environmentally friendly business.

The strategy features a series of key goals and aims, including a pledge for all core film and paper product categories globally to contain recycled or renewable content, as well as all of its regions to have labels that enable the circularity of plastics.

Avery Dennison also announced a number of targets that it will aim to reach by 2030. These are set out under three wider sustainability goals, including delivering innovations that will advance the circular economy; reducing the environmental impact in operations and supply chain; and making a positive social impact by improving the livelihoods of people and communities.
