SRF FLEXIPAK APPLICATION REQUEST FOR DUTY INCREASE ON BIAXIALLY ORIENTATED POLYPROPYLENE (“BOPP”)

The request for duty increase has been published by ITAC on 22 October 2021 for SRF Flexipak (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd. The increase in the rate of customs duty on Biaxially Orientated Polypropylene (“BOPP”) classifiable under tariff subheadings 3920.20.50 and 3920.20.55 from free of duty to 10% ad valorem through the creation of two additional 8-digit tariff subheadings. The two-tariff subheading differentiates between metalized and not metallized BOPP.
