The New Year has brought with it two new staff members at Printing SA; Ms Desdemona Arendorf and Ms Tessa Mabona.

Desdemona joins Printing SA having spent more than a decade in an Office Administration environment. She has solid experience as an administrator, focusing on customer service and has worked closely with various individuals and suppliers from different backgrounds. This gives her an added advantage and the ability to provide the best service to our member companies. Customer Centricity is one of her strong suits and she won’t settle until all clients are satisfied with their required services. The team is excited to have this energetic young woman as part of our vibrant family.

Our second new recruit, Tessa holds an Honours Degree in Public Administration from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and her previous exploits include a very successful career as a Trust Fund Administrator at a financial institution. She has also worked as a Support Administrator before being promoted to Client Centric Mode Assistant and thereafter, promoted to Program Assistant at one of South Africa’s leading medical health groups. Tessa’s previous working experience in administration within the Banking and Medical Aid fields make her an invaluable addition to Printing SA. We welcome Tessa to the Central chamber team while wishing her the best in her role as Administrative Assistant.

Printing SA offers TT (Technical Theoretical) Modules in all Pre-Press, Printing, Packaging and Finishing trades.

Apprentices indentured in the existing CBMT trade training programmes; who are enrolled in Printing SA’s TT Modules, will benefit from receiving tuition based on our newly redesigned and developed learning material. Printing SA has also introduced an FP&M SETA approved continuous assessment model whereby Learners are assessed on every module to ensure total comprehension before moving on to the next level. The excellent results that we are achieving in the final examinations bears testimony to the fact that this strategy is working.

The FP&M SETA have approved Printing SA’s brand new dual TT module system which, we believe, will facilitate the integration of practical training and workplace experience with other TT modules.

Find out more about these modules and to register by visiting our website.

FESPA is kicking off 2021 with their first Coffee Break Webinar for the year. The focus of this webinar is sustainability, and how using Coveme and EPTAINKS offer more sustainable solutions to screen and digital transfer printers.

In this Coffee Break Webinar, Graeme Richardson-Locke FESPA’s Technical Support Manager is joined by Stefano Fabozzi, Product Manager at Coveme, and Daniele Uboldi, R&D, and Product Manager for Textiles at EPTAINKS. These respected Italian headquartered, international businesses supply products across a wide range of industries with Coveme focusing, in this case on their 70% recycled PET Kemafoil® KTR Transfer release films and EPTAINKS who are working hard to eliminate petrochemicals from their ink formulations in favour of BIO water-based inks. These have been developed using 82% certified materials from renewable sources. Both manufacturers are supporting the opportunity for textile printers to select more sustainable products in the production of transfers.

Carbon reduction strategies will truly take-off when the industry starts looking at how to move from the past where fossil fuel derivatives were the standard choice, to a progressive future that uses biologically sourced and circular processes to achieve groundbreaking sustainability.

The Exciting Webinar Will be Taking Place on 19 January 2021 at 11:00 London Time.
